1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Halal Food AI mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Halal Food AI is a mobile application that provides halal compliance checking services for food products. The App allows users to:
- Scan product barcodes to check halal status
- Analyze product photos to extract and analyze ingredients
- Input ingredient lists for text-based analysis
- Track scan history and save favorite products
The App uses AI technology and multiple data sources to provide halal compliance information. Results are provided for informational purposes only and should not be the sole basis for dietary decisions.
3. User Accounts
Halal Food AI operates on an accountless model. No email, password, or personal information is required to use the App. Each device is identified by a unique device ID. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device.
4. Subscription and Payment Terms
4.1 Free Plan
The App offers a free plan that includes:
- 15 starting tokens (one-time grant)
- Access to all scanning features
- Last 5 scan history entries
4.2 Auto-Renewable Premium Subscription Plans
Premium auto-renewable subscription plans are available with the following features:
- Monthly Subscription:
- Title: Premium Monthly Plan
- Length: 1 month (auto-renewable)
- Price: €3.99 per month
- Features: 150 tokens per month, unlimited scan history
- Yearly Subscription:
- Title: Premium Yearly Plan
- Length: 1 year (auto-renewable, billed annually)
- Price: €29.99 per year (equivalent to €2.50 per month, 37% discount)
- Features: 150 tokens per month (1800 tokens per year), unlimited scan history
Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscriptions at any time by going to your account settings in the App Store or Google Play Store after purchase.
4.3 Token Packages
One-time token packages are available:
- Token Pack S: €1.99 - 70 tokens
- Token Pack M: €4.99 - 200 tokens
- Token Pack L: €9.99 - 450 tokens
4.4 Token Costs
- Barcode scan: 1 token
- Photo analysis: 3 tokens
- Text analysis: 2 tokens
4.5 Payment and Billing
All purchases are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Payment will be charged to your account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage subscriptions in your device's account settings.
4.6 Refunds
Refund requests must be made through the App Store or Google Play Store in accordance with their respective refund policies.
5. Token System
Tokens are device-bound and cannot be transferred between devices. Unused tokens from subscription plans do not accumulate beyond the monthly allocation. Token pack purchases add tokens to your current balance and do not expire.
6. Accuracy and Limitations
While we strive to provide accurate halal compliance information, the App's results are provided for informational purposes only. The accuracy of results depends on:
- Quality and completeness of product data from third-party sources
- Photo quality and clarity for image analysis
- Completeness of ingredient information provided
You should always verify product labels yourself before making important dietary decisions. We are not responsible for any consequences resulting from reliance on the App's analysis.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of the App, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and software, are the property of Halal Food AI or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App without our prior written consent.
8. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's operation
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Use automated systems to access the App without permission
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Halal Food AI and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the App.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, with or without cause or notice, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms.
Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease. All provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination.
12. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the App is operated, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
